Palin sites scripture as source of strength

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin says she relies on her faith in God, and that her strength comes from scripture as she faces daily challenges.
Palin and her family recently visited Billy Graham and his son Franklin at the elder Graham’s home in North Carolina. During the visit, Palin sat for an interview with producers from the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association where she spoke of her favorite scripture found in 2 Timothy.
“God hasn’t given us a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power and might and a sound mind,” she summarizes. “That scripture reminds me that we don’t have to be afraid and we don’t have to be afraid [of]…admitting that we don’t have all the answers. We don’t have to be afraid of having to be in a position of thinking that unless you have every single concrete answer, you shouldn’t run for office or you shouldn’t put yourself out there as a voice for the people.”
Palin also commented on the importance of a leader being humble and submitting himself or herself to God.
“That’s very important for a leader to be humble enough to say, ‘I don’t have all the answers. So, come on, nation. Let’s gather round together,’” she notes. ”Abraham Lincoln did that when he called for fasting and praying so that God’s will would be done in our country and so that God’s hand of protection would be made manifest in our country. History has proven that principle to be so true and so right.”
