Government VS We the People
There\’s only one lone governor against 90% of the House and Senate who is doing her best to fight for the people that do not work for the government. If you have been following the furlough story, you can plainly see that government employees are crying the blues because they think they are more special than the average “Joe” and because of that, they should not give up one red cent of their livelihood to benefit the lowly “others” of this state. They feel that it is deserving to tax to death the people that they supposedly work for, which is the rest of us. Do the words power hungry and selfish come to mind? How about US and Them?
But does the average “Joe” realize that we have been hit with the worst legislative session ever when it come to more bills that have been passed that will profoundly oppress us with higher income, tobacco, hotel and fuel taxes?
This is how government gets when there is no accountability. They can tax and spend OUR money without a conscience, and they can easily prevent us from having a decent hospital to save our lowly lives.
Right now, we are powerless to stop the tax and spend monster. Wake up people! Next year is an election year and the last year of the best and most fair minded governor Hawaii has had in a long time. Unfortunately she was voted in without the back-up support in the House and Senate which would have been more fair. How could any effort count since every veto she has done for the simple sake as to not put more burden on us lowly people has been overridden by a one party system? What ever happened to Power to the People?
